News for 2010

National Twinshock Scramble Championships 2010

The 2010 National Twinshock Championships will again be sponsored by Richard Wood of RDH Auctions for the third year, and Jon Burrows of CNR Burrows Transport will again be sponsoring the Rider of The Meeting awards at each round, both of which are really appreciated.

At the time of writing most of our class sponsors have committed to continue their support as well which is great news. We are also hoping to gain extra support from new sponsors for our re-branded Wulfsport Masters Class which will now be known as the Wulfsport Top 20 Experts. The idea is to keep all the riders in this class interested by having awards down to eighth place at each round and the top 15 overall at the end of the season, with promotion and relegation to and from the class as it’s a big step up for some riders.

Following last weeks AGM at the Awards Presentation evening a calendar of events has been drafted, and we have nine rounds pencilled in, including a two dayer at Warmingham Lane, but please note that these dates have to be agreed with the clubs and landowners, so don’t go booking your holidays just yet.

In order to keep your preferred riding number, you are asked to register before January 31, 2010. After this date your numbers may be allocated to new riders, so you have been warned. Lower numbers are likely to be kept by the regular riders though. Registration for the series will be £15 for each class which entitles you to enter each event for £35 instead of the non registered riders fee of £45, which means by doing just two events saves you money. This money goes towards printing costs, as you will receive a copy of each entry form, event programmes, and to subsidise the annual trophies which are awarded at the end of season bash at the Moat House Hotel, Stoke. Registration forms are now available on our website www.nationaltwinshock.co.uk

Following the AGM the class structure for 2010 remains as follows;
Clubman Twinshock (For novices and beginners – You will be graded by the committee)
Intermediate Twinshock (Graded accordingly)
Top 20 Experts Twinshock (Expert riders, again at the discretion of the Committee)
Over 50’s / 60’s Twinshock
125’s / 250’s Twinshock (All 125/250 riders will be encouraged to ride this class)
Evolution (Monoshock Bikes Pre 1990)
Veterans (Over 40’s Any bike)

For those of you who are new to twinshock racing, the £15 registration fee allows you to score points in your chosen championship class for the end of season awards, although you may ride as many classes on the day as you can afford for trophies. I must point out though that due to the popularity of the series, you must get your entries returned to the club secretaries as soon as you receive the entry forms in February, as the early rounds always tend to be over subscribed.

All our events are run by IOPD or ORPA affiliated clubs and therefore annual or day licences will be required. At the time of going to press, annual licences available from club secretaries cost approximately;
IOPD £15, ORPA £11 or day licences are £5 and £3. (Note: An AMCA or ACU licence will cover you for all IOPD events)

We are still on the lookout for sponsors to support the rebranded Wulfsport Top 20 Experts class, so if you are interested and you want to give your company some extra publicity please contact Geoff Shuttleworth for details. Finally, if you have any questions on the above please do not hesitate to ask, and lets have another cracking twinshock season in 2010.
